Cataclysmic Variables Presented by Arnold Brody
Arnold discusses a special variety of variable stars involving a white dwarf drawing gas from a close-orbiting main- or late-sequence star, resulting in various types of outburst activity and a multi-magnitude brightening of the binary system.
Developing A Variable Star Observing Program Presented by Michael Cook
The presentation will cover how to begin a variable star observing program, for fun and/or science. You will learn how to tailor an observation programme that matches your skill level, location, telescope, and frequency of observation. The mandate of the AAVSO and how you can contribute will also be presented.
